Medical service provides support and service to the healthcare system in Skåne. Our services range from laboratory medicine and medical technology to assignments in pre-hospital care and research. We have about 2,100 employees in the administration.

Imaging and laboratory technology is an area within the specialist-independent operational area (VO) of laboratory medicine. The imaging and laboratory technology area consists of three units responsible for maintaining medical technical safety through preventive and corrective maintenance of medical technical equipment. We also assist Region Skåne's operations in imaging and functional medicine as well as laboratory medicine with technical expertise. The operation is involved in investments and procurements and participates in research and development in the field.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We now have the opportunity to welcome a biomedical engineer to Laboratory Technology in Lund.

In this role, you will have a varied and developing job where you will:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of instruments and equipment.
  • Provide technical support.
  • Act as a contact person between Laboratory Medicine and suppliers.
  • Participate in project groups for the introduction of new instruments.
  • Assist in the procurement of new technical equipment.

Other areas may also arise, such as being part of the management group in the role of systems specialist. As a biomedical engineer within Laboratory Technology, you will work closely with laboratory operations on a daily basis. The needs within the various specialties continuously change, and the tasks may change to best meet our customers' requirements. There are opportunities for development within the area.

You will be based in Lund but will be part of a regional team where you will also support operations in Kristianstad, Hässleholm, and Ystad. Work in Kristianstad will occur at least one day a week. Work at other locations in Skåne within Laboratory Medicine may also become relevant as we have a regional assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained engineering graduate or has similar education and/or experience that is deemed equivalent by the employer. You have good knowledge of the Swedish and English languages in both speech and writing. Since travel in the job, primarily to different locations in Skåne, is required, a valid B driver's license is a requirement. We consider it an advantage if you have knowledge of and experience in troubleshooting medical technical equipment. Additionally, we would like you to have good knowledge of computer hardware as well as general knowledge of networks and network connections.
